With this project we are able to prepare and distribute hundreds of book bags to children in Auburn, Opelika Alabama and West Point, Georgia for a great start in school again this year through our Annual Book Bag Project! Our boys and girls received the durable Jansport Mesh book bags filled with the basic essentials to get off to a great start.
Edgar A Guest noted, “I’d rather see a sermon than hear one any day; I’d rather one should walk with me than merely tell the way.”
For many children, going back to school can be positively frightening. Especially if there is a very good chance he or she is not going to have the supplies needed when the day arrives. We believe it takes more than simply telling a child to stay in school and get an education, we believe in investing in a child’s education.
Many of these children have an inexpressible desire to succeed and impact and leave a positive mark on their world. Sad but true, they also know the reality is they would be laughed at and even ridiculed if they made it known they have a dream to impact their world. Many of them abandon any hope of succeeding simply because the shortage of people in their lives who believe they can succeed. We believe they can, we believe they will.
Not only is our Book Bag Project a tremendous evangelism tool opening the doors for many new children, we also are very grateful that we can also be a resource for our local schools who will call when a new child comes into the school who does not have a book bag and supplies and may not have the resources to purchase them.
For only $20 we will purchase from our supplier Jansport a cool brand-new mesh book bag and fill it with all the basics to get off to a fun and great start to a new school year. If you, a Sunday School class, a business or a church would like to invest in this exciting project simply designate your gift to the “Book Bag Project.” For more information on this project please contact us.
